Johnson County Lawyer
"One morning, I was waiting at the school bus stop with my two grandsons. The driver started backing up. It hit me and pinned my leg against the guardrail. I ended up being airlifted to a hospital in Tennessee for surgery. Billy met with me in the hospital and within a matter of days, he had inspected the school bus with an accident reconstructionist and obtained a video from inside the bus. He also filed the lawsuit right away. In just 10 months from the accident, Billy had the case resolved for over a million dollars. I know other people whose lawyers took that long to even file their lawsuit, and some whose lawyers just took a quick settlement and went away. Not Billy. He worked fast, but he also maximized the value."   - Bertha B.    |    TESTIMONIALS FROM PERSONAL INJURY CASES

At the Johnson County, KY, Johnson Law Firm, founded by Billy Johnson in 1998, our personal injury lawyers have helped countless individuals in Eastern Kentucky and across the state whose lives have been affected by the negligent actions of others.

Cobbled together in 1843 from pieces of Floyd, Lawrence, and Morgan counties, Johnson County covers 264 square miles and touts Stuffley Knob as its highest point. It derives its name from Richard Mentor Johnson, who served his country as a general in the War of 1812 and was a United States Representative, a Senator, and even Vice President under Martin Van Buren. He was the only vice president ever elected by the Senate under the terms of the 12th Amendment, was believed to have killed the Indian chief Tecumseh in battle, and championed the end of imprisoning debtors, though he failed in his bid to have the government fund an expedition to the center of the (allegedly hollow) Earth.

Hagerhill is the beginning of the Dawkins Line Rail Trail, which currently ends in Royalton, in Magoffin County. This 18-mile section of a proposed 36-mile trail is open to bicyclists, hikers, and horseback riders, taking them over 24 former rail trestles and through Gun Creek Tunnel. In addition to multiple locations in the county seat of Paintsville, the National Register of Historic Places features spots in Volga, Williamsport, Oil Springs, Red Bush, Flat Gap, and Asa. The community of River has the world’s longest “plastic” bridge, having replaced the wooden deck of the Forrest and Maxie Preston Memorial Bridge with one of glass fiber-reinforced polymer composites. River is also the final resting place of legendary pioneer Jenny Wiley.

There’s a lot to love about Johnson County. Just ask Johnson County Judge Executive Tucker Daniel, who says, “Outstanding schools, churches, retail shopping and close proximity to major metropolitan areas offer our residents big city access while enjoying the peace and security of a small town environment. Come visit us, we will make you feel welcome.” Whether you are a resident or are just passing through, it’s our goal at the Johnson Law Firm to help you enjoy the area safely and to protect your rights if someone has harmed you.
